The Logistics Analyst works with Sales Ops, Shipping, CM or 3PL to coordinate WW shipments to and from Dolby customers or manufacturing/distribution sites to ensure that shipments are complete, error free and arrive as scheduled. This will include document preparations such as Commercial Invoices and SLI's for import/export in addition working with our 3PL on customs clearance and customer issues. The Logistics Analyst will also work with the supply chain management team for customer drop ship requirements as well as assisting with inbound support for products/materials from our manufacturers/vendors via best shipping method. Must have a good grasp of shipping SLA's, modes of transportation, innco/shipping terms, import/export compliance requirements, schedule B and ECCN and how they are applied to products for customs processing and declaration.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares international shipping documents such as Commercial Invoices, Certificate of Origin, SLIs, Letter of Credits, packing slips, etc. as needed to ensure shipments are processed timely and smoothly through various Customs Agencies to eliminate unnecessary delays and storage charges
- Ensure that Dolby Laboratories is properly following Government Import and Export Trade Programs
- Perform the necessary transactions in SAP to properly closeout sales orders in order to recognize revenue
- Ensure that the 3PL/CM’s and Brisbane Shipping properly palletize and route shipments in accordance with documented Dolby Laboratories and their customers routing instructions
- Works with 3PL and carriers to ensure scheduled freight is picked up in a timely manner so that material leaves the docks on time to meet shipment commitment dates
- Inventory tracking and accuracy for FG/RXO and components
- Protects shipments by investigating causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight, insurance warehouse storage and handling fees.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Will coordinate shipments between regional 3PLs to ensure smooth inbound and outbound supply of goods
- Will provide input on best practice for Dolby global end to end supply strategy and implementation of that strategy
- Analyze historical demand for these components and develop supply plans, which would be fulfilled out of Brisbane
- Coordinate with regional sales teams to ensure supply plans meet regional sales requirement
Qualifications:
- 2 – 8 years experience in logistics specific to 3PL, reverse logistics and supply chain management
- Bachelor’s degree or combination of experience and education
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong team player who understands the global market
- Ability to execute tactically but at the same think outside of the box, excellent eye for details, good understanding of end to end business practices
- Very good understanding of customs requirements and practices worldwide as well as provide guidance for correct shipping terms
